Hi, im new to this community, also im not experienced script user. I am looking for detailed install manual for v2.1. I dont know how to do some things from that shot install guide which goes in the archive:
2. Change permissions on the following file and four folders to 777 (writing permissions):
- include/config.php
- temp/
- temp/adodb
- temp/cache
- temp/templates
How and where do i change those permissions.....?
5. As a security measure, we recommend you change back permissions
to 755 on the file:
- include/config.php
So i changed to 777 as stated above and now change to 755? Or this a different thing?
And the last question- Shouldnt i create some mysql database for script to work? What to do after i create one?
I know those are dumb questions, but i am not a programmer and this is my first time installing scripts...
Thanks

When you ftp it up to your site you can click on the file in your ftp program and go to properties and click all the boxes after installing then open up your ftp program go to include/config.php and just unclick the boxes
when you run the script it will create your db and all you have to do is go into admin and set everything up

Thanks for reply. So i uploaded the files to my host. Now whats the second step? Run install or click/unclick some boxes? There is nothing about permission 77 or 755. The 9 boxes are:
Read Write Excecute
Owner box box box
Group box box box
All users box box box
Some are clicked some are unclicked

Createt manually. Thanks for the help. All installed.
Just wondering why it says: Configuration file is still writeable by the user the webserver runs under. This poses a major security risk, please drop writing permissions for include/config.php file immediately!
I unchecked those boxes with writing and executing permissions, left only reading permissions..and it still say i need to drop writing permission

refresh your ftp program after unchecking it b/c sometimes it doesn't keep them unclicked

If your using cpanel go into the file manager and set the permissions there set them to 444
For some reason you have to do it via a file manager sometimes
