Hi,

First off, let me say that I am a big fan of phpLD and all of these other scripts. I appreciate the great support you guys have and your willingness to help people especially at no cost. You are probably aware that you are one or two steps away from a very marketable piece of software (if not there already). I had a few suggestions for the script that may make it more robust and usable on a more broad scope. Soon I will be using the phpLD software to create a directory that will feature more than just links. I'll be rewriting some of the code to fit exactly what I need, but the basic logic will remain the same. I'd absolutely LOVE to see something like phpMaps integrated with it, which is why I'm so stoked to have come across it today. I have worked with the yahoo maps API in the past and I know it can become a very useful feature for a site's userbase. I do like the new features in phpLD V3 such as individual link detail pages (these will become vendor detail pages on my project, but it's the same concept) and I also like the idea of controlling ad placement. I think something like an ad rotator in conjunction with ad placement control on 2 or 3 levels would be a great feature, and it's something you've already pretty much got in the script. I'd recommend staying focused on your main task (directory and features within) rather than trying to broaden out too much like creating, say, some sort of CMS or something (for lack of a better term). You guys are doing a great job and I'll be sure to post the finished product when it's all said and done! Dont count on that for many months though, I'm afraid. :P

Keep up the great work and I look forward to new products from you guys soon.

Regards,
Dylan

Yes, we have actually restarted work on this project recently and should have an actual release available shortly. It will not be a phpLD integrated app initially, but could surely work on the same site. I don't have an exact timeframe, but it may not be a lot longer.

Thanks for your kind words of support.

David,

Fascinating.

Where is the best place to keep a look out for the finished project? Where will you declare the final release? I'm looking forward to it.

I have a programmer working on it over the last 2-3 weeks and he is improving it between answsering support requests. I don't know exactly when but I hope soon. It will definitely be a separate product initially.
