Admin panel - validate links not working for me

Hi there!
At the begining I wasn't requesting a link back for my link directory - it was optional. But now I want to change that. And I also want to set inactive the old links that don't have the link back to my site.
However, this (the last part) doesn't work. I'm choosing the options to verify the link back and to set inactiv if broken. But the page is doing nothing. It looks like is loading but nothing happens. The image grafic in the top page shows nothing.
Any ideea of how to fix this? Or there is another way to set inactive the sites with the linkback broken (except 1by1 check) ?

Oups, sorry. Dunno why they displayed like that.
If you want you can tell me what I must look for and how it must look like. I mean this php info, how should it look for the script to work 100% corectly ?

depends on version of script etc etc etc I would like to have admin access and ftp access to see if maybe the script is timing out or if we can finesse some settings for you

Can't provide you that info, sorry.
What I can say now is that I have the latest free version and that the site is hosted by 110mb.com.
The directory script is here: www.atat.ro/links/ (http://www.atat.ro/links/)
110mb.com doesn't allow the .htaccess files - that's for sure. Maybe this is the problem, though the scripts runs just fine without them ?!?

Nothing to do with htacess more to do with fsockopen (maybe firewall blocking outgoing connects on port 80 ) etc but since you can't/wont grant access to the files to see if anything can be done,

You were right, it was the fsockopen thing.
I talked to the hosting service and yesterday it was working (the linkback verification).
However, there's something else I can't understand. The sites with broken links remain the same in my directory, though I always checked the opyion to set inactive those without a link back. Is this a limitation of the phplinkdirectory, since I'm using the free version, or is something else I'm missing ?!
Basicly, when I check the option to set inactive those sites, it should display them normally without the link to the site, right ?! Anyway, this is what I understood. Maybe you can explain me this.

Was outgoing blocked or totally disabled?
