View Full Version : Visual verification / confirmation
I'm having problem with the visual confirmation. Is there any way we I can change that picture. I tried a couple of times submitting a link and I didn't get the code right. Call me stupid but sometimes it is sure difficult to read. So this mean, If I have problems somebody else might too.
Your help would be approciate it.

Definitely NOT stupid, I've had the same problem since I upgraded to RC5+ from RC4.... (and I've been online etc. since early 90s....)
RC4 is the key. Access the downloads page here, and grab the RC4 distro. Unpack to a storage folder on your harddrive, once unpacked, copy the /libs/captcha/ folder to the folder of the same name in the current (RC5+) distro on your web server; then copy captcha.php from the RC4 distro root folder to the same place on your web server.
You should now see the more easily usable RC4 captcha on your site. I don't know why they can't seem to fix this....
[If the RC4 distro is no longer available herein, please post back, and I'll make the relevant files available on my own webspace....]
Works great. Thank you so much.

RC4 did not help me. I still can figure out what the captcha code is half the time.
Anyone end up finding a fix for this?
btw - the captcha files are dated 7-20-05 in RC4 that I used.

I can tell you that this will be part of the 3.0 version. I may actually have a demo of the the captcha in a couple of days. I'm planning on having some configuration settings in the admin. More to come soon....
Hahaha, nice to know it is not just me, that stuff is so hard to read, I get it wrong about 50% of the time.

Hi,
I'been unable to use the visual verification code on my directory... I'm using a free hosting service. I already read all post about captcha and gd and similars.... my last option I think it is to tell my host to recompile php as someone said on the thread.... so I did it..... they have gd support with freetype and everything but I keep seeing the red "X" instead of the image.
Anyway, I send an email to the host and their answer is this:
Content visible to registered users only.
ohhh the directory address is
Anyone knows what they need to change when they recompile php??
Any help appreciated! :?

blackpepper,
This is a direct link to your captcha.
{url no longer active}
That's why it isn't showing.
I'm closing this thread, any new problems anyone may have please create a unique thread per problem.
Thanks
