Hello Gentlebeings,

I'm trying a test installation of PHP Link Directory, using v.2.1.1.

The installation went smoothly, but I'm having a problem with the 404 redirect from Wordpress. It seems when I do a test submission of a site, I get a redirect from the wordpress .htaccess / 404.php to a post not found error message in wordpress.

What are my options? if I install in a subdomain, will that solve the problem?

The current default installation is at http://www.theroadtoonlinesuccess.com/dir/

Thanks a bunch,
Ray

I dont see any problems, submitted a test link, and I was at the same page, with the thank you for submitting message, didn't get redirected using FF2 as well.

Hi SasaVtec,

Thanks for testing, but I'm still getting pushed back to the Wordpress error page.

You mentioned using FF2, is that right?

I'm also using FF2, where it's giving me the redirect... Opera doesn't seem to be affected, so I'll have to double check my cache...

Thanks for the assist!

Hmm, after further testing, it seems the push is only when I submit the link from the Main directory, and select the subcategory I want the link in. Maybe simply disabling link submission from the main directory is the solution? I'll have to check out how that can be done.

I'm still getting intermittant problems with this, I'd appreciate any help you all can give.

I'm not sure how phpld is working, and if it's using a 404 redirect process or not, but every once in a while, the wordpress 404 redirects me out of my directory when submitting a link.

I wish I could give you an exact place it happens, but unfortunately it's to random. At first I thought it was only when submitting from the main page, but now it seems to spring up from time to time in other areas.

Help!

If it is a intermittent as you say I would contact the host and see if mod_security is installed on the server and if your triggering it by certain posts.

Hello Dawzz,

An interesting thought, but no, mod security shouldn't be the problem here.

But, with that being said, yes, it *is* on. I'll try testing with it switched off for the directory and see if that helps.

In the way of additional info, it may be related to email validation. It seems to fail the check and kick out to the WP 404 redirect. By the way of testing, I tried leaving the addy blank, and got the problem instantly, but when I had an invalid email (incomplete) sometimes kick, sometimes not...
