creating multiple pages for links within each category?

as my directories have grown, i now have unbelievably long lists of links in each category. how could it be set to automatically create a new page every 20 links?

alright, i am finally going to do the upgrade to the newest version on all my directories.

can someone give me or point me to the instructions for moving to the new version without losing any template mods, particularly the placement of my adsense type ads and text links i've sold?

I don't think there are any instructions.... what I've done (and it's worked so far....) is copy my templates folder to a separate folder on my drive, then do the upgrade, then copy the templates folder back over the one from the new distro.

As I said, it's worked fine for me (even worked fine from vers. 4 to vers. 5), but it's certainly not perfect or foolproof....
