i'm upgrade to the newest release, and when prompted to enter my mysql info during install, i simply get nothing after clicking "next"

i thought maybe i was putting in the wrong information, so i tried putting in a wrong password, and then it DID give me the error saying it couldn't connect with those credentials.

however, when i go back to the correct information, it just kinda sits there saying "waiting for reply" and then just reloads the mysql info page, with not error or anything.

any ideas?

During the upgrade you should not re-enter any information...just click next til the end. If something failed, then you will need to look at your last config file, and upload that again.

alright, i just did that, and same thing. it automatically puts the right information there, and then hangs and eventually just refreshes the page with not error again. however, if i change the password to a wrong one, it WILL tell me the password is wrong, meaning it is at least processing the information...just not moving on in the installation.

Are you completely down?
Or are just trying this in a test folder?

I'm not sure why this is hanging for you.

no, everything else is working fine. i can log into the admin panel, approve links, etc, and this isn't in a test folder. the only thing that hands is pressing next on the mysql info. i really dunno how it could be happening.

okay, can someone check out this particular directory and tell me if they know what's going on?

even though i still have the problem from before, when i log into the admin panel, it says my instal is up to date, so maybe it went thorugh even though it SEEMED to hang on the mysql thing.

the problem now is, even though there are for example 34 entries in my Health/Alternative category, none of them show up when you look at it

any ideas? also my contextual ads have moved to the center of the page, and all sorts of things seems to be out of whack. any help would be great.

Can I take a look at the DB? phpMyAdmin would be great.

Thanks
