Installation error

hi guyz

i've done all the step for the installation, but i can not get into anypage after that. The error is

Fatal error: Smarty error: [in main.tpl line 2]: syntax error: invalid attribute name: 'title\' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 1524) in /home/weekly/public_html/libs/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088

A couple of things...
1) Tell us a little more about your configuration: operating system, php version
2) Make sure all files were uploaded

I'm pretty sure the problem is related to either the php version or a missing file. I look forward to your reply.

I'm using Linux hosting and these are all the information

Linux
Kernel version 2.4.29
Machine Type i686
Apache version 1.3.33 (Unix)
PERL version 5.8.6
PHP version 4.3.11
MySQL version 4.0.24-standard-log
cPanel Build 10.2.0-STABLE 83

i've upload all the files with the latest version (phplinkdirectory-2.0.0rc3)

any ideas ???
