Import category structure, then existing categories and links

Once I successfully get a category structure to import into phpLD 3, is it possible to then import all existing categories and links from a version 2 directory?

I want to redesign my existing 2.0 directory into a version 3.

When you run the upgrade, all your links and categories maintained.

If I start a new directory with phpLD 3, can I import all my links and descriptions from my existing Version 2 directory? Or is this only done one by one?

Yes, in that case you would copy your old directory to the new site, and then run the upgrade. Please join the supporters forum (http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25597) when you make your purchase. There is a lot of information and help there.
