i am getting this error when trying to install

can any one help?

Session Save Path writable? Fatal: /tmp not existing or not writable.

And have you attempted to chmod that directory using an ftp program?

yes the /temp and temp/templates are set at 777 am i still missing something?

yes, but above you said /tmp (not /temp).
btw, I made the same mistake too one day.

Here is the line I see on page 1 of the installation:
Session Save Path writable? (/tmp)
I hope someone will know the answer. Are you on a Linux server?
Sometimes this files in on the same level as the www folder. Does it exist? Is it writeable?

ic the /tmp should already be on my server and not apart of the link install app... yes it is Linux

it sounds like there may be an issue with /tmp

If you are able to grant me ftp access, PM me and I will take a look.

i will have to st up a new user for you... and can not do that at the moment... I my just call my host provider to see if they can assisst in ching settings.... thanks so much for your help

I'm hosting this one at hostdime.com and the packages are quite affordable. I also like site5.com.
