I am looking to purchase version 3, but having a play around with the free version to see if it suits. While doing so I have come accross a few problems.
1) URL rewrite - I know there are numerous posts on this, but I can't get any of the solutions to work. Firstly, I installed as directed, set rewrite URL to yes, but was getting page not found errors. I then added the 'RewriteBase /" after the 'ReWriteEngine On' comand in the htaccess file, but am now getting permssions errors. I also tried various permission settings on files and folders, but to no avail.
I do have mod-rewrite set on my hosting.
2) Category deletion - When trying to delete various categories, I am getting numerous 'Smarty' errors occuring, although the category does delete ok.
Following the above, I deleted the entire installation and did a clean reinstall, but still have the above problems.
Any help would be appreciated.
