email problem

I just had this script installed and everything seems to work except the email function. When I try doing test submissions and then validating them, no emails are sent.

The guy I had install the script doesn't see anything wrong and thinks it's our email, but that seems to be working fine as well.

Also, when links are submitted, am I (as the admin) supposed to receive any email notification or something so I know there are links to validate? If so, again that isn't working either.

if i log into the admin panel and tell it to send an email, it does send it, and it is received. so i'm not sure why when i validate a link it's not sending an email - or where the error is.

You mean like an email that says, "Thanks for your submission. Your link has been added to our directory"?

Yep, that's exactly what I mean.

I don't think we have that implemented yet, but I'm sure we can add it shortly.

Absolutely. And I'm glad to know there's nothing wrong there. I am in the process of closing one site and replacing it with another - and unfortunately the links directory on the old site is done in cgi/perl and i don't want to have to deal with reformatting it, much less transferring the links (approx 1,700 or so). We have a little more tweaking to do and then I can email the other linked sites and direct them to relist on the new site. David you can see what we're doing at http://www.qhorses.org/links and if you have any suggestions as to making it better for our users, please don't hesitate to make a suggestion. Look for that donation as soon as we open (in about 2 weeks hopefully).
