Hi,

People are having problems entering their details into my directory. I just tested it myself and found this error when you submit

Content visible to registered users only.

First I thought it was an error with people putting in bogus recip link information but when I checked for myself it's their own URL that they are tryiing to add that the script is disliking.

Any ideas please? The url is www.signs-house.co.uk

Thanks,

Jez.

Hi yktan,

The problem does not lie with the recip link - it's with the URL that they are trying to add.

Though I did try that fix as well, just in case - no go though. It didn't make any difference.

Thanks for your reply - any other ideas?

Thanks,

Jez.

Hi I tried submitting http://www.signs-house.co.uk/ to your directory (http://www.hitfix.co.uk/environment/) as a Regular Link and it didn't show me any error. Could you tell me how I can replicate the error that you are facing?

Content visible to registered users only.

Hi Yktan,

The error exists on http://www.signs-house.co.uk not the http://www.hitfix.co.uk/environment site

Thanks,

Jez.

Glad it's not just me!

Any fix for this yet?

I assumed that it might be a problem with the hosting's php version or something and was considering moving hosts but if there are others with the same problem perhaps it's not a php version problem?

I post a screen shot below. The URL submitted in the screenshot is real but all other info isn't.

In response to my own post. I got an email from my hosts today saying that they are upgrading their PHP version on my hosting. Does the forum think that this might solve my problem of people not being able to add their sites to tye directory at signs-house.co.uk?

I am hoping it does as the site is currently useless.

I think it's actually a redirect error. I have unlimited domains on my hosting acct.

If I submit the main one I've never had trouble. It's when I try to submit the add-on domains with redirect I get that errror

addondomain.maindomain.wtf = addondomain.wtf

Does that make sense? I cant only post URL's after whatever amount of required posts

I think im just confused now. I was able to submit one of my addon domains to a directory

I think im going to lay down but...nevermind

phpld 3.2 latest version handles redirects.

Also, check that your host has post 80 open - the web server needs to be able to establish an outgoing request to test the page.

The way to tell is on the home page of the admin page - if it tells you that your version is upto date then 80 is open.

Hope this helps. I had the same issue and had to move hosting company.
