Way to have a thumb of a different page than the link?

I am a new phpld user. I found the thumb mod http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1089

Is there a way to get a thumb of the front page while the link actually goes to a different page (deep link, or signup page)?
