Alright so here is what I want to do, I'm thinking of purchasing another copy of this script so I can create cats' for each state and then regions is each state. I want people to be able to list themselves lets say contractors. But it won't be

The only thing I want is to be able to put an email address and a bio about this person maybe a picture. Doesn't seem to complicated. If the link directory isn't the right way to go about this what would be the correct way?

you can simply create tables for it and customize it in your own way!

all that is easily possible with this script. it is only an couple of fields and an image uploader mod :)
