How to incorporate a blog with PHPLD?

I'm interested in purchasing this PHP Link Directory if I can incorporate a blog with it. Is this possible and how is it done?

Unless your blog uses smarty (lifetype is the only one I'm aware of though I'm sure there's more like the now defunct bblog.), integrating the two admin panels would be more work than it's worth. Instead, you would simply create the same template for the blog and directory so they appear to be one seamless site. Then you would log into the admin panel of your blog to make blog posts, but log into the phpld admin panel to approve/work with links.
