Link Sequence way off

I have 756 links in my db but my link id start off in the 1000's for some reason and my next link index is 3310 so my question is there a way to change all the ids at once instead of one by one in phpMyadmin

i'd like to know this as well, i have same problem...
its caused when you remove links from your site it leaves "holes" that do not get filled back in....

anyway to have the db rewrite all the links in numerical order and then use a link seq update to adjust for this?

That I did but it doesn't help to fill in all the gaps or holes between numbers:(

That doesn't matter as long as the seq count number is HIGHER than the largest link id
