I could not export RSS with Newstopica. I have the following error message:
Content visible to registered users only.I did not change anything in code. Maybe the problem comes with special characters one more time... :(
Need help!

You might want to try PMing yktan. He can probably solve your problem. Hopefully, you can give him FTP access, and a little compensation for his time.

Hi David,
Thanks for your message but for the moment I do not want to pay because there is a bug in newstopica. I posted many messages concerning problems with special characters.
The XML works with PHPLD links cause the link is manually inserted by user and content is stored on my database like Content visible to registered users only. for word "personnalisé" in french for example.
But with newstopica I import automatically all feed RSS in french and all characters are stored like é, Ã**censored**, è, etc... So I do not want to update myself my database all hours to replace characters. I found a solution to display characters on screen.
I tried to use XML without characters and it was running.
So there is a major problem with your application and I think that you must find a solution. I paid for this program and I would like that basic features work correctly.
I am right to pay money if I need a special feature but I do not want to pay to solve a bug. I hope you understand me. :)
Otherwise no problem to give a FTP access if you are right to spend a few minutes to see my problem :D

Sure, we'll get it working with the special characters.
Give me the url of a feed that would have these, so I can test.

3 problems:
- XML
- Search does not work with special character. You can try with sante and santé for example (it means health)
- display results (resolve for this moment using Content visible to registered users only. in template link.tpl
I think we can resolve the problem either changing charset either encoding format during import RSS.
Thanks very much

I have the same problem but mostly with nordic characters as æ, ø and å.
Any ideas in addition to the things allready mentioned in the forum?

Hey, I already have a beta version in the works with some new features. I may not work as fast as some would like, so I appreciate your patience, but I think slowly but surely I am getting a strong development process in place.

Hi David,
Maybe with you new beta version it will work. Is it possible to try it? I know you will provide a new version 3.0 of phpLD these next weeks and I am very interested by this. Any problem to pay licence as written in your news.

Please don't stop asking. I am still going to help with this.
But right now, I have to get past Feb 1 release of phpLD 3.0.

Hey, I couldn't help noticing that you are using the directory script but have removed the link back to phplinkdirectory! Why's that then, have you paid for the privalage to call the directory your own? Just thinking out loud :?
