Recip. links displayed as featured links?

I search all over but haven't seen this topic yet. Is there a way to make your reciprocal link submissions appear as featured links? I wanted to run a promo where if you submitted a site with a reciprocal link, you get a featured listing, rather than having to pay.

This would certainly be a useful mod. It would allow us to give a little something extra to the recip submitters. I would like to list the links as featured first, then recip, then regular. Anyone done this?

Same here. Actually. If I can't enable this in PHP Link Directory, I'll have to use something totally different like Site Sift or something. For me, having links back is more imporant than up front money. That was the whole point of me having a directory. To have links back. But I also want to populate the pages, so making it not required is just as important.

So has anyone been able to have a recip link earn the submitter a featured link status?

Keep in mind you can always change the status of the link to featured right now. I'm sure this can be done. If we are lucky, maybe someone will take the time to write the code and submit it here.

That is true. It's got to be easy to put this in place though. I'd love to have a more automated system in place.

Hi,

new here so still learning, I needed what you ask, so what I did for the time being is just edit the main template where normal links with recips are listed and changed the text to 'Featured' I will manually upgrade them from admin for the current time.

Looking at the code it should be quite straightforward to shufflr it around to make it automatic.

It is on my 'todo' list so if I do it before anyone else I will post the code.

Exellent engine and forum guys, looking forward to contributing more.

I agree that we would just need to find where in the code the link is flagged as "reciprocal", and then also flag it as "featured" at the same time.
