Unable to approve SOME links

This is strange - I am logging into the admin panel to approve a number of new links. I can approve most of them, but not all. I cannot see anything different about the links I'm unable to approve - syntax seems correct. Yet the system will not allow me to approve these links.

Any ideas of what's wrong here?

Well, I remember in version 1 there was a problem with approving links where the description or title contained single or double quotes. Can you tell me the version you are running, and also if any of these listings contain quotes?

I can assure you that is not a problem in version 2. the links with quotes in title or anywhere else.

Will ask the installer what version it was. I have checked the titles of the sites as I thought quotation marks might be an issue, but only one had those and none of the others do. Will go check the version.

Yep, it seems he downloaded v 1.6? I have asked him to download the newest version and upgrade it. Hopefully that will take care of the problems.

Yes, it will definitely take care of the problem.
Bear in mind...version 2 is a MAJOR upgrade from version 1.
