Editing the main index page

I am using a different template other than the default one, but I was wondering how do I put stuff like affliate banners and links up on my main page??

it depends on where you want them as you can put them just about anywhere for instance in header

Total noob question but what file would i have to edit. main.tpl or the index.html??

index.html would be one of your own pages...index.php would be the phpLD file
any template changes would be done in the template folder in the template files: name.tpl
to edit the header file it'd be header.tpl to edit the main page would be main.tpl, ect. dependin on the template you are using there may be other files to edit as well

thank you! Im using Bradywine and Ill see if I can add the affliate banner to the bottom by just altering the main page. Please pray for me and thanks again!

if you want it to be at the bottom of every page then editing the footer.tpl would be your best option.
