Lost spaces

I am losing spaces when the text is rendered in the browser making words join up (eg itis). The spaces are in the code, but this coincides with where text is wrapped in the code (the wrapping is in a different position when rendered). Not wrapping lines would fix it, but lines several hundred characters long is not practical.

I dont get this on other sites so I guess this is something that smarty causes.

Any ideas how to fix, it makes my site look bad.
