Hi i m very new in web designing ...... i want web directoy in my new site but i really dont know how it'll work i download that script but did not know how to use it ....... how i can change top banner etc..... if dont mind then plz guide me little bit :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: .....waiting for positive responce :)

"Have you setup a mysql database? " really dont know just only heard about that.............but my service allow me for php & mysql database ...... but i have not enough information
Not yet bcoz i thought that first i have to change the banner & other things so i didnot....................if u dont mine & have time then guide me ........bcoz there are alot of folder ........have i uploaded all & with there folder name or in a same folder .........so there is alot problem for a learner like me :( :( :( :( :( :( ................if u can then do help me :oops: :oops:

And are you setting up the "Regional Directory" (not free) or the free PHP Link Directory?

I'll help you, including template modification etc. However, why not donate $10 to the developer first? This guy puts in a lot of work on these scripts and others are bennefitting from it so he should get some support. I'm not getting anything from this save for helping you and seeing that the guy who put all the intial hard work in. Don't be tempted to pay good money to someone you don't know, at least a small donation to David here shows willing and then you will see you get priority help. :D

I know you are abslutaly right but plz try to understand first of all i have not money but if i can get from any where i cant send u bcoz i have no credit card & bank account i m just newone in webdesiging Belong to Pakistan .......where credit cards are not common..................hope so u get me what i want to explain....................if it is in my hand i definatly try to donate some thing...............ok take care.....Bye

You said you have a service that provides a mysql database.
I think you will need to ask them to setup a mysql database for you.
Once you have this, we should be able to help you.

Just send them a note that says:
Please setup a mysql database for account, and send me the login information for the database.
That is all you have to say.

Upload all the files and then in a browser visit /install and follow the instructions.

Hi ...... if you time then explain me liitle bit .........that tell me the first folder name then tell me that i upload then in one folder or as it is..........mean that as your arrange then can i upload them ....is that ok or not............bcoz last time i uploaded whole folder as it is???????? or i have to creat some other folder........ if i have then which file i have for which folder...............so plz guide me

give us these details
1. who is your webhost?
2. Have you uploaded the entire folder to your webhost
3. Have you gone to the site and folder that the script is located at
4. Have you tried to initiate the install script?

You can place in the main folder of the site or in a separate folder like /directory. It will run either way. I hope this is a Linux server. Please answer bobby's questions.
