Can anyone tell me who has the most categories and live links using this script? So far I have seen only small site, by that I mean a thousand or so links and cats etc...... Is there anyone who has really tested this script for power? :?:

Come on, you are teasing me :D Notwithstanding this site is in breach of copyright laws it has only imported the categories, how many? I didn't see many links. Cantufind.com has been playing online and offline and wants to see if there are any serious testers of this script.... Even the online test is better than this one, surely someone can do better? Remember copyright laws mind :!: Cantufind doesn't parse scripts and never takes the text description as this is illegal! Surely there are some serious contenders?

the one i am currently working on (without any submissions. still in dev) and is just one part of the whole design has roughly 32,000+ to start off with. Nothing but pure emptiness :)

I'd like to know what they believe is the 'cap' for phpld.

I would say the cap depends on your MySQL limits.

unless you decided to say want a full list of every link on the same page.

I installed the script on 5 Dollar Directory with 7900+ categories, it is really slow while loading the homepage and I am not able to load submit page to check if the pricing has applied correctly.

I think script is not able to load around 8000 cats in the dropdown..

That's your hosting. (front page)

For the submit page, I do believe there was a modification so that it would not load the entirety of all cats, or was a workaround to load it quickly.

can you forward me a link to same mod? I am also looking for it in forums.

also can we modify it like first users will navigate to proper category/subcategory and then only they can click and submit their website..

i will try to make something like that as well...

Content visible to registered users only.

there was also a mod to only let submissions go through within the category as well.

i can't search right now, but when i get back around and check in, if you haven't found it, i'll try and help.

The limit depends not only on phpLD. The database, the server, the configurations and many other factors contribute on the speed of a script. There is always a way of running a site (directory in this case) with a very huge DB, but it needs to be configured properly.
