Its very easy installing the directory and really like the interface.
But I am facing two problems while submitting a test link to a directory:
a) Its unable to validate the code for preventing auto submission. I saw you sticky post but captch.zip file is not available for download.
b) Script is unable to find Reciprocal link posted on LMA directory (another site of mine) from onlinamarketingtoday.com but when I put a link on plain html file it does find it.
Plz advise.

Hi ggombar1, to download the captcha patch for RC3, don't use the link from the sticky post. Click on the Download button at the top of the page and choose phpLinkDirectory 2.0. Then click on the download button for captcha patch for 2.0RC3.

Thanks yktan this has resolved the issue ( a) as per my earlier post.
DO you have something to suggest for reciprocal link problem.

Would you mind providing the URL to your own website and also the URL for the site with the reciprocal link? It's much easier to check that way.

Hi ggombar1, thanks for providing the URLs.
One question for you, did you configure your PHP Link Directory's site URL correctly? To check, go to your PHP Link Directory's admin panel and click on the Configuration button (at the top of the page) and choose the Edit Settings option. In the second textbox (It shows *URL), do you have it set as: {url removed because it was not working}?

I have set it correctly as {url removed because it was not working}.
I pasted the same code on the homepage (static page - html) and when I put this in reciprocal link field it accepts it.

Hi ggombar1, do you mean that the reciprocal link validation only works when you place the link in your root document?

I meant that I had it correctly before you asked me to check the settings.
When i put my link at find-india.com on a static page it locates it fine but when I have it in my directory on find-india.com which is running PHP/MySQL it gives an error that link is not there.
I hope I have explained it better this time.

Hi ggombar1, thanks for clarifying your statement for me. Please go to the following URL and follow the instructions to apply a Mod to fix the problem that you're facing:
{url removed because it was not working}
Please remember to make a backup of the original php file before replacing it. Do tell me if it works fine for you.

Hi ggombar1, I've done the Mod on my demo site and it works well. You can have a look here:
{url removed because it was not working}
Would you like me to debug on-site for you? If you do, just provide me with access to cpanel for sticcare.com (via PM) and also admin username and password for your PHP Link Directory installation.

Hi ggombar1, thanks for the info. I am not able to upload a test script onto your site right now because I am behind a firewall (can only download from ftp, no upload). I will post a reply as soon as I can do some debugging... probably in 3 - 4 hours' time. Is it ok to keep the ftp open for me?

Hi ggombar1,
This problem had me baffled for quite a long time because all the debugging that I do only confirmed that your application is working correctly but somehow not able to validate the reciprocal link correctly. At the end, I had a look at your PHP Link Directory's settings and found that you've set:
{url removed because it was not working}
instead of
{url removed because it was not working}
as your site's URL.
I've changed it to {url removed because it was not working} and reciprocal links are validated correctly now. I think this thread will help other users who are facing the same problem.
Thank you.

Hi yktan
Thanks a millions , I have never ever recd. such kind of help on any forum / any support desk. You have finally cracked the pot.
You know before I had applied patch I had my reciprocal link set as {url removed because it was not working}, as I was trying different things to solve the issue I made that change and after that I applied the patch and never thought that this will be the cause.
Anyways, thanks a lot for you help. Im sute PHPLinkDirectory will do definitely be a hit as people like you are there to help people out of the way.
