Hi there,
I'm just trying to get to grips with Validate Links.
I'm a little confused as to which checkboxes to check under' Reciprocal Links'
Check Reciprocal Links:
Set inactive if broken:
(only if recpr. required) Pending Active
Set active if valid:
(only if link not broken) Inactive Pending
which boxes do you check?
Sorry for the dumb question, but I can't get my head round it :?
First part (Set inactive if broken) will affect the links that are missing the reciprocal link and that require a reciprocal link. In the configuration you can specify if the directory will require reciprocal links or not, but this can also be overridden for each link. The check box narrows the affected links further. If you only select Active then only the links that meet the above criterias and are also Active will be affected. The same for Pending.
The second part (Set active if valid) will activate links that have valid reciprocal, but only if the actual link is not broken. Again the check boxes narrow the selection further. You might want to activate only Pending links, but the the ones that are Inactive.

Thanks for the explanation.
I have noticed that when I do 'Vilidate Links', a number of links in the 'Recpr. Valid' column's status is 'Not found' -; and the 'Recpr. link' column's status is 'No recpr. link'.
This is very strange because I can find the reciprocal link when I manually go to the site in question and look through their links directory - I see my link.
This is one of the site's that lists my link, but in LD is showing as 'Not found':
{url removed}
My link is the last on the list (Jewellery Style)

Hi robpetterson,
There is a thread that might help you. Have a look at this thread:
{url removed because it was not working}

Hi YK Tan,
I went through the post , but it didn't fix the problem:
I checked configuration|settings in admin of LD - they were ok
I edited functions.php and then tried validated links tool again - but still broken links :(

Hi robpetterson,
Would you like me to debug for you? If you do, please PM me cpanel/ftp access to your site as well as administrator password for your PHP Link Directory. I'm not sure if I can find anything wrong since you've double checked everything, but I can give it a try if you want me to.
Thanks.
Regards,
YK Tan
