Hi thanks for the mod but I don't think it is working properly?
I am using version 2.1.2 of phpLD
I did everything to the letter and spent about an hour trying to get it working.
Any fix for this: "Failed opening required 'magpierss/rss_fetch.inc'"
I tryed seemingly ever url configuration from "/home/, /usr/local, to hard http but alas nothing worked :(

Ok I got it all working for you and formatted the output in your footer to make it look a little better. You can modify to suit now if needed. Only problem was that your directory is in a subfolder and the magpierss in the root. I will modify my instructions to make it more clear about what to do in that case.
If you need anything else let me know.

It should work fine. I just uploaded a new zip file of the mod with a little better instructions included. Download that and try and if you still have problems you can PM me with your url that you are installing on and ftp access info and I will look at it for you if you want me to.

Thank you very much for this mod. I have been using it for a while. Recently found a problem with mine however and was wondering if anyone could help me. On my directory it is changing apostrophes into question marks. Can be seen here (http://www.pooperoni.com).

Guys-- vsdan helped me fix it, here's what he did:

In magpierss/rss_fetch.inc, I changed:

define('MAGPIE_OUTPUT_ENCODING', 'ISO-8859-1');
define('MAGPIE_INPUT_ENCODING', null);

to:

define('MAGPIE_OUTPUT_ENCODING', 'UTF-8');
define('MAGPIE_INPUT_ENCODING', 'UTF-8');

Cheers =)

I have updated the files and will upload the new zip file to the downloads section.

I guess you would like to setup what was done in post #3 where you have a feed for your articles and then the link for the latest articles will display the articles.
I will PM you the detailed instructions for how to do that and setup a tpl for for you to download that will be complete with the magpie code to make it easier for you.

Thank you MadDog...it is working but i have only one issue. The articles are not showing directly when a visitor clicks on the Latest Articles button. They appear after you click on the Articles from the Latest articles. I need them to appear directly when you press the latest Articles menu.

All the best

Hi,
I just looked at your site. Looks great and you only missed one step. You need to change your top_bar.tpl link that goes to your latest articles to this link now:
Content visible to registered users only.
Once you do that then when a user clicks on your latest articles link they will go directly to your feeds.
Cheers,
MadDog

David, VSDan, James everyone, you are providing awsome, instant, speachless support...and some times, because you are all so dedicated, people do this...

Let me consider your " Hi, I just looked at your site. Looks great and you only missed one step. You need to change your top_bar.tpl link that goes to your latest articles to...." as a basic installation. and PM with the details for sending you $5.00 USD as for a basic installation.

Thanx again to all of you.

P.S. I will send you some inquiries also for one of your great directory :)

I am thinking also if i did the latest article page rss parsing solved, to add rss from another url to subcategories pages.

Must be simple...or not?!
