Hi guys,

I just tried to update from RC 5.2 to Version 2.0 by uploading the new script and running the installation routine but the installation routine does not continue.

What is the correct way to update?

Is there another way to update my directory?

Cheers

Hello!

The default installation routine is you upload the new files, overwriting all other, you then give writing perissions to the following file and 4 directories:
include/config.php [file]
temp [folder]
temp/adodb/ [folder]
temp/cache/ [folder]
temp/templates/ [folder]

Then you run the upgrade script yourdomain.com/install/index.php

When prompted, give DB connection details, and a username + password for admin.
That's all.

Please try to post your errors so we know what exactly does not work.

Thank you!

Hi Boby,

thx for your answer! That is exactly what I did! And the way I did when updating previously.....

When I run the installation routine mydomain.com/install

the first information screen shows up but when pressing next nothing happens.

I even tried it with different browsers, cleared my cache and deleted the cookies....

Hmmmm does anyone have another idea?

Cheerss

Short update:

I now tried to upload my old version files and the same thing happens...

the installation does not continue when pushing the next button....

Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

I still have 5.2, and this is why i bare to upgrade to phpLD 2. Outch, I dreally don't want to be stuck in this kind of situation.

Di I have to upgrade to phpLD 2 before I upgrade to 3?

And definitely take the time to make a copy of all of your files and put them in a folder like /new. Also make a copy of your database.

Then update /new

That way there is zero risk of getting "stuck" on your upgrade.
When things slow down a little, I hope to be able to give some free upgrade help, but we aren't quite ready for that yet.
