View Full Version : Why not donate?

I'm posting this in open forum to send a message that this isn't a closed community. Why don't we all try our very best to donate as much as we can to get this excellent script working with the best of the rest? Surely anyone that has ventured into this forum can afford the internet and to host a script so there is no reason why every single member of this site can't afford to donate $5 to the cause. What will happen then is that Version 3 and the rest may well be released to the public forum far sooner and we can really develop this. At the moment there are too many people taking everything for granted and everything for free. The black and white is if you can afford to host this script you can afford to donate a few dollars to the development of your future and php links future!

If we keep seeing this trend of taking and not giving you are only going to create a closed script. This site will make you lots of money, and the better you make the script the more money you will make. Trust me, I know!

Here here, I couldnt agree more.

I only came to know of this script about 1 month ago and saw the potential there and then. Which is why I purchased v3 and also the extra $10 for the support.

Its a great script already, but with a few more odds and sods, (which are currently planned) it will be a fantastic script.

Come on people $5 aint going to break the bank now is it.

Thanks
Psyclones.

Hi Kev,

I don´t get the point: Do you mean $5 additional to the $25 for version 3 or instead of the $25 fee?

BTW: I don´t make money with my website (not even one cent). My site is completely free and I consider it as gift to the community.

Sincerely,
Wolfgang

If you paid for the script then you have automatically donated and everyone else who has including me thank you. This was aimed at people who don't donate either with a couple of dollars, design or technical help but just take the fantastic script as theirs without care for all the hard work put in.

I paid, plus donated extra, and plan to help even more. I couldn't agree more. phpLD is a great script, and to use it and all of its advantages without making a small donation is just greedy and disrespectful.

Hi Kev,

thanks for your answer! The script is good, indeed, but as long as the problem of SEO-friendly pagination is not solved, the script is NOT perfect.

Take me as an example: As long as there are links like domain.tld/directory/?p=2, which cannot be spidered due to my robots.txt, phpLD is absolutely worthless for me. Sorry to say that. I really hoped that this problem would have been solved in the new version (3.0).

To say it very clearly: As long as the problem of rewriting pagination exists, I simply cannot use phpLD...

Okay, I think you have got my conclusion.

Best wishes for you and have a nice weekend!
Wolfgang

Could someone please point me to which mod this is?

Is it Ap0s7le's "Pagination of links" mod at {topic moved} ?

TIA

This is something that is already implemented in 2.0 and 3.0. It just means that categories can use page numbers, rather than showing long lists of 100+ links.

In 3.02 we are taking it a step further, and using mod rewrite on the page numbers like this:
