Hello friends.
I finally registered in order not to post as guest.
Here is a small problem.
I will use these domains
{url not in service} - directory URL
{url not in service} - user URL
While submitting the user can add {url not in service} as the recirocial URL.
Possible solution is to check if the dirurl and the reciprocial url do not contain same domain.
Other solution is to check if the submitterurl is on same doamin as reciprocalurl....but the first variant is better as there may be case where sombody wants a link to some domain and gives you a backlink from other.
I hope I managed to explain the issue clear.
Yes, you are perfectly right, although this is not a security issue.
It will be corrected in the next version.

yes you are right to...you can rename the topic if you like.
Here comes another idea. If the user can submit other baclinkurl than the one to which he wants a link he can just check your backinks and add and url that contains a link to you. That will be pretty nasty too and will cost additional checks in order to determine if the link is proper.
So maybe linkurl and backlinkurl must go in pair and be from the same domain.
Or maybe best is to have an option for that as maybe many webmasters will not like it.
hmm... You got a point there, but I think I have a very simple solution. What if the users are requested to include in the id attribute of the a tag for the reciprocal link the ID of their link and that will be checked when the reciprocals are checked.
Of course the submit interface will be improved also and it will show the users the exact HTML code they have to use for the reciprocal link. something like:
Content visible to registered users only.I can also include a check that multiple reciprocals are not placed on the same page or same domain or same IP.
This way it is assured that for each link there is a different reciprocal.
Everybody, please feel free to comment or add suggestions on this issue.

Hi
Not a bad idea, but I think it will get too complicated that way. Aslo I am not sure if the search engines will like the id="12345" stuff in the url.
In my oppinion an option to check if linkurl and backlinkurl during submit are from the same domain will be easier and safe enough.
You decide... :)
The search engines don't have any problem with the id attribute.

Content visible to registered users only.
Search engines not, but what about PHPLD? Just tried and it doesn't seem to work - impossible to enter the ID parameter. How do you do recip link exchange between two PHPLD directories? ;-)

Admin would have to be involved.
I can see this will be a continuing issue for some, so we'll try to come up with an alternative plan. We are already working on an addition where you can add the link to the other site first, and then email them showing the link location. Then they click on a link where they go to a page and enter the url of the page they added your link, and click submit, completing the exchange.
Thanks for the feedback. Don't worry, we'll find a way to make it easier for you.
