I purchased phpLDtemplates.com, and plan to make a site offering free and paid template designs.

If you are designing templates, and offering them for free or paid, and wish to sell or give them away on the site I build, let me know. I will soon be working on the site, and would be happy to help you distribute them. It will be a great resource for phpld users, and maybe consolidate some of the great templates that are out there.

I guess I should add, that I will only be offering templates. Anyone wishing to get the working script will have to come here.

Cool. I am gonna put something simple together to consolidate all the free ones out there, then improve it as I go. Please be sure to specify what version of phpLD they were made for. templates for 2.0 wont work on the latest 3.01, since the upgrade replaces the templates folder.

I am putting something simple together today. For those that would like to offer their templates on phpldtemplates.com, this is what I need from you.

The name of each template
A small screen shot of the template (About 200px wide)
A link to a demo of the template.
A link to a download for the template.
The price you are asking for the template, if not free.
The version of phpLD that the template was created for.
A list of mods or enhancements that the template has.
Any other pertinent information about the template.

For those that pm'd me about offering other templates as well, hold off until I find a cms to handle all of it.

This will be an opportunity for those that are making templates and skins to distibute them to an even wider audience. I will not try to take any type of credit for your work, and I encourage you to include a "Skinned by" or something similar link on the template.

Yes, the templates changed a little in phpLD v3.0.1, but most of the submitted templates will work. Changes were made just to fix XHTML validation, this means: we closed some forgotten tags, added "alt" attribute to the "img" tag and fixed the numeric ID problem in links. For a phpLD 3 installation, you could use new templates with success, maybe some very small tweaks are needed. Just leave the admin templates original ;)

I am waiting for the page to be online and I will sure submit one or two full CSS based templates with no tables and no styles in HTML code.

Great! The first version of the site I put up will not be much more than a place to display images of some of the templates, and links to where you can download them, but eventually I plan to be able to let visitors download them right from the site.

I have a basic site started, and will continue to work on it. There are 2 free templates available in the free section. I can place any others that anyone wants me to. Also, I will be offering customization services, so if there are any programmers that would like to get referral business, let me know.

I also plane to start a list of all phpld sites. As well as provide a "Sponsor" link for anyone that is providing templates.

Other ideas are also welcome.

The list of php Link Directories has grown to be a very long list, and I have added new templates to offer.

that really Good idea to provide other free template .....i'll suggest you that try to make some very simple desige ....with sell for example some have 3 sell ...some have 4...that will easy for other to modify it who dont know Php but that will be able to change jpg.....hope so u get my point...plz try to avoide phpldtemplets desige :cry: ........

there are free templates available for download. Most of them are very simple to edit, and all you would have to do is add a jpg logo or whatever you wish.

I am working on a 3 column layout that I will offer for free, but have been sort of waiting forrevisions to be done with phpLD 3, so that I can offer it for that version.

if you are using phpLD 2, and would like something with 2 or 3 columns, I can do that for you, but I don't think I would offer it for free.

Once templates become more readily available, I can't even begin to imagine the hassles, frustrations and complaints we will begin to see.

Right now, as it stands, things seem to be easily upgraded because a great majority of people are working off of the same exact template.

If you are seriously in need of a template, my best advice would be to learn a little bit of smarty & php.

A little bit or know-how and knowledge can go a very long way, and can help you incorporate a nice design even with limited knowledge of the two technologies.
