How would you use meta keys?

Hello!

I am planning to write a good mod that will change meta keywords and description for each category. This is because most of the users are looking for good SEO pages. Actually it will be a usual version that can be used by anyone, and an advanced for phpLD 3.

I was thinking about creating two new fields in admin area where you, as admin, can write for each category some keywords and a special description that will be used just for the meta keys.
Ok, so we have now this option where you have the control. But what about if you don't enter something? You can't always write for each category it's keywords and special description. Let the script do the trick on it's own.
My question is now, what keywords would you use and what description for the category page?
I was thinking about using the subcategory titles as keywords and the category description as meta description description. If there are no more subcategories we won't have any more keywords and if there is no category description we'll use a standard one that is saved somewhere.

Please, if you have any good or bad experience regarding this, or other ideeas or do you think it is good what I am planning ... don't hesitate to post.

I think there should be 2 keyword fields: one for the categories, and one for the listings, each separate from the other. As you stated, keywords associated with the categories would generate the keyword meta tag. But if the listings had there own searchable keyword field, this would help a great deal in getting more accurate searches.

Also, it would be nice if the search results also listed the category that the listings are contained in.
