Take a look at this:
{mySQL Dmoz RDF Parser}
What someone should do is get a working copy of DMOZ into a mysql database, and then create a plan to update it about once per week.

Then we can find ways to right queries to extract the data from mySQL!!!

If nobody else want to do it, maybe I will when I find time. :)

Is there a way to import DMOZ categories and links for specific States only?

There is a free program that extracts URL's from a list contained on your hard drive that may be of some use to anyone trying to copy URL's to your database. It can be downloaded from: http://www.focalmedia.net/urlextract.html

This program won't include site descriptions or keywords, but does aid in extracting URL information from saved web pages, documents, etc.

Not to push anyone away from this wonderful directory program, but I own 8 licenses of a directory program developed by this same company. That software has a wonderful dmoz import program built in. Hopefully something like this can be added in the future to this software.

I must admit though, I am done purchasing any further licenses from them now that I found this program.
