Static detail pages

I thought I saw this mod somewhere.

Is there any way to have static detail pages?

Well if you are using 3.02 you should have a detail.tpl a detail.php and a v3.02 link.tpl

The link to the 'more details page' is in the v3.2 link.tpl.

If your link template is not customized then you can upload above files and overwrite your link.tpl with the 3.2 version.

If you are using your own customized link.tpl then you can extract the 'more details' link code from the v3.2
link.tpl and place it in yours. Regardless you must have detail.php and detail.tpl uploaded.


This is what the 'More details' link code in v3.02 link.tpl looks like:

Place this in your link.tpl. just make sure detail.tpl and detail.php are uploaded.

I don't know who this answer is directed at but for me the link.tpl I use is a hybred as I didn't like the 'Read More about' link at the end of the description. Personal preference perhaps. Am I wrong in thinking that the only way this script can benefit in search engines if the categories, of all types are converted to .html instead of say for example Arts/Artists/

Through reading on other forums and seeing the amazing results coming from another albeit questionable script (David knows which one :D ) they seen to get listed with links like the one here S---S---.com/57

Are phplinkdirectory.com sites getting spidered as well as this or is there more work to do?

Wasn't this available for v2?

I would like to add it to v2, I don't think I want to upgrade to v3 yet but I will be doing it when more is added, I just don't like doing updates so I want to wait until its more stable and further down the road with the features being implemented.

Wouldn't mind paying to get this on v2.

Thanks for that, I'm using that mod on my site now but I'm looking to make static detail pages instead of dynamic to help with SE rankings.

Do you know if anyone has done this with phpld?

He's modified the detail.tpl - I don't think it's too hard.

Just take out certain includes and change the html
to look the way you want it. Rearrange things a bit.

Should be fairly easy.
