Successful install but no site

I ran the phplinkdirectory install and it was successful . When I click to go to the directory or the admin site, I'm returned back to the begining of the installation process. So, I checked my database and found no phpld tables exist. This is not the first time this has happen. Whenever I make an attempt to install PHPLD in my root directory (domain.com/phpld) it gives me this type of problem. On the hand, when I install PHPLD in domain.com/directory/phpld it works just fine. What could be causing this? I want to install the directory in the root.

I guess I manage to fix it by first moving the PHPLD files to a directory created in the root directory EX. goombo.com/directory/PHPLD . Then I ran the install again and just like I mentioned above, everything worked just fine. Next, I move all the PHPLD files back to the root directory EX.. domain.com/PHPLD and it still work

Strange problem, but at least you have it working now. When I go to {site not active} I see your directory.
