Different options for different categories.

Is it possible to have options specific to certain categories?
For example I want all my categories to be free w/o reciprocal links.

But I also want to be able to select certain, (popular), categories and charge for them.
Furthermore I want to choose the price, (for example one would be $5 per months while another would be $10 per months).

Can this be done with v2? if not is it available with v3?

Eighter v2 or v3 have this feature by default.
Maybe there is a mod for this, I don't know, or someone can write one for you.

Sorry I am not sure I follow, by default you can choose to have reciprocal links or charge for submissions.
But those settings apply to all the categories.

I was wondering if there was a way to change the default settings for one category. So that I could charge for one, (or more), category.

You can charge for links, but that applies for all categories. Neighter v2 nor v3 has an option to select specific categories and set a custom payment value while leaving other categories for free.

Short version: You can eighter charge for links in all categories on you don't charge for them.

My directory is fairly new so I will not charge for quite some time.
So maybe I could use the time to write a mod to do just that.
