Hello. I'm intrigued by your regional directory script. I run a regional state business search directory and am looking at making a possible software program switch.

I have been using Gossamer Glinks and also have copies of Powerseek and K-Links directory scripts.

Currently, my directory has approximately 50,000 links and approximately 2000+ categories.

Questions:

1. Do you have an import tool to easily import categories/links via a .csv file or other formats?

2. I'd like to have PayPal capability to offer annual membership fees for listees - is this feasible?

3. Are detail pages optional for each listing?

4. Can the admininistrator allow registered members to access/edit certain data fields for modification?

I just cover a state with my directory. Would it make sense to break it sdown by regions within the state (Central, Northeast, Northwest) and then by Counties and then by Cities as well as offering the traditional top level categories of Arts & Entertainment, Business & Economy, etc.??

Do I need to purchase both the regional directory and the php link directory programs or do I need just the one?

Thanks so much!

I think in either case, "some" customization is going to need to be done to either 3.0 or the regional script to do everything you need.

1. Importing categories and links is no problem (even that many)

2. The regional directory does use "Featured Links" with payment made through paypal.

3. We have a detail page mod in phpLD 3.0. It shouldn't be too hard to import this code to the Regional Directory.

4. This is the biggest issue. We are currently working on a user login section where they can modify their listings (in phpLD 3.0). This "should" be done as early as next week.

So basically, I think I can help you, but it may require a little extra work. If you are interested in pursuing this idea, please PM me with your thoughts. I'm sure we can make it work.

Thanks,
David
