Hi,

I want to make sure I understand the payment process, (is there a demo).
So please tell me if I am wrong somewhere.

1- The user is sent to a paypal form and asked to enter their details
2- I get an email asking me to approve the link, (but it does not tell me that it is a payment link).
3- If the user presses cancel or does not make the payment, I still don't get notified about it.
4- Every month they get an email asking them to renew their subscriptions.

Regarding point 2, is there a way to highlight the entry, (different color or something), to tell me that it is a payment entry so I can check that the payment was ok?
Regarding point 3, how do I send them a reminder to give them one more chance to pay?
Regarding point 4, how does it work? How do I know if they paid or if they didn't? (does the link get canceled automatically?).

As it stands now, I personally do approvals based on paypal receipts, and then when I login to admin to check featured links, if I see others, I email them personally. Certainly we can do better, but this is how it stands now.

Thanks

And how do monthly renewals work? Are they automatic or do we get a reminder?

I think we will need to do some more work in this area.
A good solution would be to create a paypal monthly subscription.
We'll try to discuss this in the 3.0 Supporters Forum.
Thanks,
David

i just tested a subscription, and it actually does NOT create a paypal subscription.

For example pld 2.0 says "$10/month", but it's a one-time payment as far as PayPal is concerned.

How are others handling this? Do you resend a subscription after the first month manually?

*bump*

Which PayPal method of payment does PHPLd use? If it's the API, I can look into whether or not it's possible to post a subscription payment rather than a one-time payment, as it is today.

If it's PayPal IPN, here's an article that describes how to do it:

So you could do a subscripton mod, it should be hard.
