The Hull Directory site is down so I am not sure if they are still around. I am having a problem with one of their templates at www.2SearchBusiness.com. I can't figure out what to do to get rid of the white space at the bottom before the footer links.....Any ideas? You can email me at jayg123@gmail.com. First person to solve my problem gets a permanent free feature listing!

i feel it's actually a rip-off from another template i've seen elsewhere.

I know what you are on about as my own template designer thought there were simularities. I think he came to the conclusion that as no harm was done and that it was for the good of the forum so let the matter rest. I think you would be better phrased to say, doesn't it look an aweful lot like other templates? That way you are not accusing directly as you are now. You don't know, and thinking is sometimes dangerous,. Anon, I respect you and am not critisising you just pointing you in the right way?

While i can and do respect everyone on the boards (including you), this is not a case of 'oh it looks so much like it'. It's actually a plain as day ripoff.
I design my own stuff, and maybe because of that i take things a little more to the heart than you might.
Anyone trying to say otherwise is just trying to turn a cheek and get over.

I know, but sometimes diplomacy is the better answer! You don't know for 100% that this is a rip off, you think it is as do others so I am told. Lets not start a slanging match here mate please. I have paid for many mods on this site and for my own personal use only to see them used by others who just sit like vultures waiting to see what falls in front of them for free, so I know how you feel. I can tell you, and I think that you know this, I too state my opinion black and white but as I am not 100% certain and can never be I cannot put the chap down.
I'm definately not turning the other cheek as you suggest, I would be the first to mark the guy down and I have had dealings with him. He is an honest guy from what I can see and he has not charged a dime for these templates so why knock him. If we are going to call people theives because the templates they create are based on others out there then we are all guilty of 'stealing' as the directory idea was something thought of a long time ago, and I was one of the first to do so over 8 years ago! You don't hear me going on about it as I learnt we can be as p**** off as we like, the fact is that it is still free to everyone, its different to the other template as it has different features. I've also seen this persons own designs that were written from scratch and there is no chance in the world he could be accused of any plaguerism!
We won't get anywhere debating this as we already agree on the principle, copyright is copyright, but its a fine line and one that is best left to the original designer, (If the template is someone else's?) to complain not us.

My concern isn't to debate the issue.
My post was not one to knock anyone. I never said a word about the creator. The template speaks for itself.
My post was to express *my* opinion, and an opinion with a link to provide pictorial proof as to how i came to my conclusion. others can come to their own.
My post was to also let David know that should he maybe want to ever include this particular template into an upgrade, he might want to think twice before doing so.
To compare a 'directory' to a 'template' is plain out retarded. i have no clue as to why you decided to include that, but you were much better off not doing so. :lol: But if you did want to make a comparison... :lol: actually lets not go there.
No worries, I don't feel like debating a 'rested' as you called it, issue.
ps.s - he has tried to charge. just not here.

I thought you might have understood the analogy that if it is any type of script, template, or even a begging letter it is subject to copyright protection.
