View Full Version : A Few Suggestions

First off, love the directory! I'm personally using it to do reciprocal links so I have a few suggestions that would be huge for me. Sorry if they've been mentioned!

1) Show my linking details -- or else how well they know how to link to me? :)
1a) Allow me to choose multiple keywords / titles that it randomly shows for my linking details
2) Allow for multiple pages in the directory if you get too many links in a category. Make sure it works with the url rewrite so it becomes /category/page2.html
3) Have a report or a way to sort on which links aren't reciprocated and an easy way to email the owners of those sites
4) Make sure the captcha image stops caching! My fix was to add a time variable to the image (i.e. captcha.php?time=1120847179) My browser is Safari.
5) Allow me to turn off the unique title in a category requirement
6) My most favoritest one -- a way to visually show in the directory when a partner has not reciprocated. Make sure my partners know that I know they are jerks

Keep up the awesome work! I plan on donating when my site starts banking

Content visible to registered users only.
You can edit template submit.tpl for this.

Good idea. What about just a simple script that will be included in template.tpl.
Content visible to registered users only.
Didn't notice yet that this is not implemented... Well anyway, in that case I prefer deeper categorization. If I see dirs that have like 10 pages in a category, no matter how good url rewrite they have, google will not spider the deeper categories. Oh well, can bear that for free dirs, but not worth the effort to bother with submitting to reciprocals in that case.

I would hate to get such email. Either you are recip dir and do not allow non-recips, or you are a free dir and shall not email for recips once you turn to reciprocal.
Above comment of course unless I misunderstood something.... I feel that you maybe meant a bit different from what i understood. Perhaps next release that comes with more email features, will help, that it will allow to email on non-acceptance, telling the reasons...

Currently how I'm doing it but I would prefer a more integrated solution. i.e. change from the admin

Content visible to registered users only.

Fine, you and I won't link swap

Content visible to registered users only.

Yeah you definitely misunderstood. I want to run a report to see who no longer linking to me. This report could definitely just be a sort option on the list of links. And add a mailto: by the links..

If you hate emails you get because you took down or never put up a link to me... then we're DEFINITELY not link swapping
