Email Problem wil not "ignore" warnings

Hi-I did search for this and some one had same problem back in 2006 , the thread was closed and no answer.

My problem is this- when adding link and email if I get a warning, like this:
"an email was already sent to this recipient on 20080324172411 with link URL... and link title test4.." etc...

and I choose to ignore warning- it will not ignore it.. and can't send. Is there a fix of some kind for this?

version 2.1.2. I did have earlier version and upgraded thinking it might fix.
I am happy to disable the check or whatever is easiest.
I want to use the add link and email function. This is where error affects me most.

Wondering if anyone else has thoughts on this?
don;t want to mess with script blindly. If there was even away to disable the "check" to see if emails has been sent to address maybe I could just remove warning function?
