Here's a quick update on an old mod released by Casey and Dawzz of phpLD that will allow you to get accurate thumbnails -even for affiliate program links that won't link properly.

Content visible to registered users only.FREE / BASIC STW USERS
if you are using a template with ShrinkTheWeb's basic FREE thumbnail service, then here is the code for that:

for links.tpl :
Content visible to registered users only.for detail.tpl :
Content visible to registered users only. You can thank Casey and Dawzz of phpLD for the original version of this great mod! ;)

Best regards,

Brandon

yea.. tryed it yesterday , but it told me something like "Upgrade to PRO" because I have already consumed my max numbers of thumbnails... but I have stats like this :
New Requests : 1
Limit/mo : 15,000
Fetched : 0
Limit/mo : 250,000

So what's wrong ?

Hello,

It's most likely a problem with the implementation, since we have many thousands of sites that are running smoothly. So I'd have to see it set up on a test page of your site to know why you are getting it. There are several possible reasons, but you are not over your limit. That is just the default message you get whenever there is a problem. It is nicer than a big "Problem Detected" message that your users would see.

Send me a PM with a test thumbnail and I'll take a look and see what's going on.

Cheers,

Brandon

The credentials in the request were wrong and after a quick change, Silvers is up-and-running.

Good luck with your directory and enjoy the service. ;)

Cheers,

Brandon

Yes [bt] I can say that ShrinkTheWeb Thumbnails are way more better than Thumbshots.org .
A little guide on how and were to place sizes :
In the links page you should use the little size ( sm ) and in the details you should use Extra Large ( xlg ) or the large one as in the tutorial ;)
I'm using the xlg size and it looks awsome :D
