Hello

I just bought 3.3 from the safearea site.

I cant find any information on how to update the script. I understand that you have to pay 10 usd to get access to the supporter forum but shouldnt there be free info somewhere on things like this?

There is no easy way to perform this upgrade. It is recommended that you replace everything. There is a changelog included in the file, so you can see what files have changed.

i think you used the term 'free' one too many times.

free script, free info... i mean.. c'mon.

if you were able to acquire a script for free, get free MODS, free code, even limited free support from other forums go'ers and manage to make a little something of your directory, where you now have a little income coming in so as to be able to finally upgrade with a purchase, you are still wanting more 'free services' and would still rather not put in the extra $10 to give back, show respect and thankfulness AND get a higher quality of support with being able to talk to the dev guys on a more personal type basis?

im truly baffled with you people. (ok, i'll be blunt; it pisses me off)

Hey, i think we should all just start using Private Messages to deliver solutions, so this way, the *FREE* forum would have nothing in it of value, and people would be forced to put up $10 for support.

Having a bad hair day?

When you buy software theres usally some instructions and how to´s comming along. I searched the forum for "update to 3" but didnt find anything and thats why i asked here.

Im a thinking of paying the extra 10 usd but only when i need to. The upgrade sucseeded so i dont need the help now. :)

I have paid 25 usd to PHPLD so dont be mad at me...

it's not being mad at you, it's just in general.

people want everything for free, you give them help, they STILL bitch and whine in PM's, and want more and it's getting ridiculous.

Then there are those who i enjoy helping out, because you can tell when someone truly appreciates something.

I bought the script and the support, but I can't see inside the 3.0 forums,, do I need to contact someone ?

btw, I'm updating and just over-righting the files and reinstall,, then pop my cat's and links back in the DB..
hope that works, I'd hate to lose the Links I have already :(

Just so you know, 2.0-->3.03 there are some database changes/additions.

if you back up your databse into a .sql file, i'll see what I can do to help you get those links into your new directory.

As far as the forums, You need to PM David, as he's the only one who can provide access.

I didn't have any issues ? uploaded all the files, replaced,, chmod what needed, and ran the /install

maybe I got lucky.. :D

Yes I totally agree I just bought it for $25 and I cant find anything on updating from 2.x to 3.x ...

erm question lol i just noticed it's showing that i bought 2 of the branded scripts and 2 supporters forums lol i wasn't charged for 2 (that i'm aware of) but may wanna look into that :)
