As one of the first users of phpLD shop I wanted to share some of my experiences getting this shop up and running. Out of the box the first thing I like about this product is the ease of administration. From one logon I can change the content of the site, change the template, add products, and view orders. With my previous solution I had to logon to three different places to do this. The next feature that impressed me was the simple payment flow. My previous shopping cart was really too complex for my needs and could easily confuse my customers. Shopping cart abandonment can be a big problem if the payment flow is not straightforward.
I did need to have some mods done to make phpLD shop work better for my business. Some of the mods included, add sales tax for my state, restrict product counts to one (each item I have for sale is unique), add videos of products, allow product photos to enlarge, customize the countries I sell and ship to, and custom SEO fields. David had Radi work with me to get all the mods done and once we had the structure of the site the way I wanted the project was sent to Roister2 for a custom template. I had a theme in mind for the template and sent some notes and photos to David and Roister2 soon had a jpg to show me of the new design. The design was exactly what I was looking for and no changes were needed. The final step was to code the new template to fit phpLD shop. I really appreciate the hard work David and his team did for me and will use them again for my next project.
