Security Code not displaying

Hi,
I have been getting a ton of spam lately on my directory so I tried to enable the security code...well it doesnt display, it shows a red x through the image. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this working?
Im using the basic free 2.2 version.

check with your host and make sure that they allow the GD Library to be used

Would the GDLibrary alos affect the screenshots of each site from displaying? The images for each site do not show up either. Here is the link to this other problem: reviewlinks.info/index.php?p=d

I don't think so...
but, msn thumbnails stopped working quite a few months ago, you will need to use a different thumbnail provider...
