Good afternoon.

I'm just uploading NewsTopica 2.0 to my site.

Looking through the files, I haven't been able to find any installation instructions.

Could David or someone else indicate to me where they are please?

Thanks for your assistance.

You should be able to upload the files, and then follow the on screen instructions. This will include setting up a database.
After the upload, make sure you you set the permissions for the following to 777

include/config.php

/temp

/temp/templates/

Once everything is setup, I would suggest setting up some categories and feeds.

Thanks.

I've uploaded all the files and set the permissions.

Here's what I now see:

Does this seem wrong? All those horrible little red X's!

I just double-checked my permissions and then opened a new browser page to the index page of the site where I've uploaded NewsTopica 2.0.

Now I get this error message:

Fatal error: Call to a member function FetchRow() on a non-object in /home/prodospheredotcom/public_html/index.php on line 203

Thanks for any advice on this problem.

The PHP 5 is the part that scares me the most (few web servers are running 5, most run 4). I sent you a PM. We'll discuss soon.

The PHP 5 is the part that scares me the most (few web servers are running 5, most run 4).

A colleague has now installed the NewsTopica 2.0 script on my site (which runs on a server using PHP5.)

He wrote that he could find no PHP5 compatibility problems and that everything seems to work fine.

I haven't actually tested everything myself yet, but I thought I'd pass that initial feedback to you.
