let me guess, your host is dreamhost?

if yes:

1. go into control panel
2. manage domains
3. click 'edit' for the domain you're modifying
4. 'uncheck' run as cgi

give it a few minutes and you're set.

I feel so useless right now. I just installed v. 2 and it went fine. The db is there. However, it redirected me to the admin page (supposedly), after the install, and it only shows the home page. I tried to log into the admin/index.php page and it takes me back to the same page. The session/save/path is correct and I got a check mark next to it during the install. I got an error message regarding cgi, postgre, and mssql, but I don't think that is the problem as I am using a commercial linux box with mysql. It is not dreamhost.

Any ideas? Thanks, and I did try searching but this is the only thing that I could find about admin page not showing.

Are you able to show the url of your site?

Close your browser and then open it and go straight to the admin login, without visiting the directory page first.

For some reason, if I am at the directory, then go to admin and login, it dumps me right back at the directory. I always have to go straight to the admin login before visiting the directory.

You are quick! I got it to working. I tried to access it with another browser, one that was not used for the install and it loaded just fine using the /admin/index.php file. For other newbies, like me, be sure to give it a few seconds for smarty to build the templates for the page to display. I almost stopped the page loading then I remembered smarty was working. It loaded fine then.

Does this script work as nice as it looks? If so, it is sweet...
Thanks for your assistance.

phpLD is an awesome script! Do keep in mind that it is a script that is being developed more and more every day, and will only get better. Sure, you may find a bug, but think of how cheap the script is, and know that if there is a bug, it will be fixed and the fix will be offered to you.

The key is to be patient with the devs here, and they will give you something to be proud of.
