First download the mod package.
Step 1
upload "detail.php" file to www folder of your web server (same folder with index.php)
Step 2
upload "detail.tpl" to "templates" folder

Step 3

edit your "link.tpl" in templates folder
and replace
Content visible to registered users only.with
Content visible to registered users only.
All done!!

Doesn't work for me. I am using 2.1.3 and I get 404 error.

erm don't replace what all they said lol...
you can either simply edit your link.tpl and place anywhere that suits you best

or as they suggested would force a user to view the detail page before they could visit the listing
in link.tpl
find
Content visible to registered users only.replace
Content visible to registered users only.with
Content visible to registered users only.

remember that if you have a separate template file for your featured links to edit it as well

Ya I saw that mistake in replace code but I did just the way you told but I got 404 error. Have you tested it ? Kindly let me know if its working for you.

otherwise you can upgrade to v3.x of the script and it has a built in detail page as well as many more features

Thanks Shadav. But my directory is not worth spending on. I don't think I can have lots of traffic for adsense ads etc. and no one seems to pay for the listings or featured listing. So, I don't think there is any point in spending on upgrading or paid MODs.

Loaded this mod with ease. The pages all link correctly now. However - the detail page doesn't actually return any of the details. All the fields are blank.

I've searched the forums for a solution, but was unsuccessful. (However I did find a lot of other cool stuff during my search. :) )

I'd appreciate any guidance anyone can offer.

Does the upgraded version already have the details pages auto link anyway? So no mod would be needed to accomplish this same thing (once I upgrade)?
