Transfered to 1and1.com hosting and I get error 500

Hello All I have moved my website to 1and1.com hosting. every time I go to the website and I click on any category in my directory it gives me this error:
Error 500 - Internal server error

An internal server error has occured!
Please try again later.


The admin area works fine everything works fine. But the categories.




Please help

Change

to RewriteBase /


in the htaccess

Thanks had the same problem and this fixed my issue on 1and1... saw some where else someone said to use
1&1 is the
Change
#RewriteBase /

to RewriteBase /directory

that didnt work it is just plain

RewriteBase /

that worked for me...
