sitemap path save problem

when I change the path and filename for the sitemap, it still saves it to the /directory/sitemap.xml. I'm trying to change it to example.com/directory-sitemap.xml so I can keep all my sitemaps in order, but it won't let me build it in another directory than its own or with another file name. Is there a fix for this or will this happen in the next update? Thanks!

According to Google, your sitemap *must* be in the same directory where your page is running.
So if your directory is this: domain.com/directory/
..your sitemap is this: domain.com/directory/sitemap.xml

That's why I have disabled manual change of location for the file.

I see that in the google webmasters sitemap FAQ. I submitted a sitemap for my blog using the same method as domain.com/blog/ and it accepted it just fine. I wonder if I'll need to rebuild my blog sitemap or not...I guess I should, just to be safe though.
